Can we talk about how if we skew the English language a bit and stray from boring reality, all of these make PERFECT SENSE?
Who knows what Ballad means? Brittany either hears “Mallard” or thinks Ballad is close enough. And thus; Male Duck.
What’s a Duet? Here, Brittany proves she knows some pretty cool words, she just gets them mixed up sometimes. A duvet is a blanket, honey, but yes they sound pretty damn similar considering.
Who can tell us what an anthem is? Oh my god, and this is why I love Brittany. S. Pierce. What’s an anthem? It’s an ant hem. Therefore, it’s the hem of - the bottom of - AN ANT’S PANTS
I’m jealous of her brain sometimes.
Hahahahahaha I never got the anthem one, that is brilliant.
Wait…but I thought these were immediately apparent? That was the entire point of the joke; she isn’t just saying random stuff ever.
Yeah, I thought that was the point… But I also find it interesting, because it means that Brittany thinks in written words, not sounds. Duet and duvet, anthem and ant hem look the same, but sound very different. So different, in fact, that a lot of people apparently weren’t following (anthem took me a couple tries, I’ll admit). So Brittany’s brain functions in a structurally different way. That would suggest that she’s really good at reading… Maybe that’s how she knew all the cat stuff? I don’t know, I find it interesting.
